I'm passionate about interviewing people. I discovered this passion when I got the chance to interview authors during my years as a bookseller at the
American Book Center
and as a co-host of a weekly radioshow on
Amsterdam FM radio
.
When I came across
Polly Higgins' work on Ecocide Law
in 2013, my first thought was to interview her for my radio program. Little did I know that
this interview
- and her TED Talk and book Eradicating Ecocide, that I studied in preparation - would be a turning point in my life. (I tell more about this in
my TED Talk
.) Since that year, I've been interviewing environmental justice pioneers on regular basis.
What these pioneers have in common is that they work to restore humanity's relationship with the Earth, from one of domination and exploitation to one of belonging and an active duty of care. They translate their vision into practical solutions and carve out new pathways in their respective professional fields.
You can read a selection of my interviews with authors and environmental justice pioneers on this website: both in
English
and
Dutch
.
